Delete your rmndr account

You can delete your rmndr account and personal data at any time. This page explains how to do it, what we delete, and what we keep.

How to delete your account

Option 1 — In the app (fastest)

  1. Open the rmndr app.

  2. Go to Settings → Account.

  3. Tap Delete account.

  4. Confirm when prompted.

Your account is closed immediately and deletion is processed as described below.

Option 2 — By email (if you no longer have the app)

If you've uninstalled rmndr or can't access your account, email hello@thermndr.com with the subject line "Delete my account".

Send the request from the email address registered to your rmndr account. We use this to verify that the request comes from the account holder. If you can't email from that address, we'll ask you for other information to confirm your identity before we proceed.

We'll confirm by email once your account has been deleted.

What we delete

When you delete your rmndr account, we permanently remove:

  • Your name, email address, and any contact details

  • Your account credentials and login information

  • Your pill pot device pairings and device identifiers

  • Any notes or free-text content you've added

  • Your caregiver and dashboard-sharing connections, including any invitations you've sent or accepted

  • Any support correspondence linked to your account

Everything that identifies you is removed. What remains in our systems is not linked to your name, your email address, or any other identifier that points to you.

What we keep

We retain your reminder and usage records in anonymised form. This includes the medications that were set up, their scheduled times and dosages, and how the reminders and pill pot were used — for example, whether a reminder was acknowledged and when.

Before this data is retained, your account is anonymised: every identifier linking these records to you is permanently removed. The records are no longer connected to your name, your email address, your device, or any other account. They cannot be traced back to you, and we cannot re-link them to you even at your request. Because of this, the data is no longer personal data under UK data protection law.

We keep it to understand how rmndr performs — for example, which reminder patterns work best — and to improve the product.

We also keep transaction and order records where the law requires it. UK tax and accounting law obliges us to retain records of purchases, payments, and refunds — including the name and address associated with an order — for 6 yearsfrom the end of the relevant accounting period. We keep these records for that purpose only, and delete them once the retention period ends.

How long it takes

We complete deletion within 30 days of your request. In most cases it's much faster.

For a short period after deletion, copies of your data may remain in our encrypted backups. These are overwritten on a rolling cycle and are fully purged within 90 days. Backup copies are not accessible for ordinary use and are not used for any purpose other than disaster recovery.

Deleting your account is not the same as cancelling your subscription

If you have an active rmndr subscription, cancel it before deleting your account, or you may continue to be billed.

  • Subscriptions bought through Google Play: cancel in the Google Play Store app under Payments & subscriptions → Subscriptions, or at play.google.com/store/account/subscriptions.

  • Subscriptions bought through the Apple App Store: cancel in Settings → [your name] → Subscriptions on your device.

  • Subscriptions bought directly from us: email hello@thermndr.com and we'll cancel it for you.

Deleting your account does not automatically issue a refund. Our Refund & Returns Policy explains when refunds are available.

Deleting some data without closing your account

If you'd rather remove specific information without closing your account, email hello@thermndr.com from the address registered to your rmndr account, telling us what you'd like removed.

You can ask us to delete:

  • A specific medication, along with its reminder settings and history

  • Any notes you've added

Some information has to stay. We're legally required to keep records of purchases, payments, and refunds for 6 years, so these can't be removed on request.

We'll action your request within 30 days and confirm by email.
